International Student Scholarship

The International Student Scholarship is granted to outstanding international students. Application begins two weeks prior to the beginning of classes each academic year. For more information, check the website of the Office of International Affairs. Contact: Ms. Chang, (03)856-5301, Ext. 1017

Scholarships are remitted into students' bank accounts monthly. After obtaining an Alien Residence Certificate (ARC), the student should quickly open an account at a local bank or post office. See page 14 in our handbook for details on opening an account.

President’s Award for Academic Excellence

Any undergraduate students meeting the criteria are eligible, except:

  • Sixth year medical students,
  • Fifth year Chinese Medicine students,
  • Students taking a leave of absence, withdrawing from a degree program, or being expelled,
  • Exchange students.

What are the selection criteria?

  1. Scores, both academic and conduct, must be 80 or over, in a total of 9 or more semester hours. Moreover, the student must not have received any University penalties.
  2. In terms of academic scores, eligible students must be among the top 3 in their If the top third and top fourth students have the same scores, the award will also be given to the fourth student.
  3. The University bases official academic records provided by the Office of Academic Affairs, for selecting eligible students. Students enrolling in the Teacher Education Program and extending their period of study are not eligible.

TCU selects students on the “President’s Award for Academic Excellence”, based on their performance in the previous semester, and awards the recipients upon approval. Students don’t need to apply for it.

Emergency Relief Assistance

Students encountering personal or family emergencies and requiring financial relief may file applications within two months of the incident.

Tzu Chi Professional Development Program

The Tzu Chi Professional Development Program is set up to provide grants to students and assisting them to work for Tzu Chi affiliates after graduation. Application begins two weeks prior to the first day of classes each academic year, and interviews are held afterward.
