TCU’s Volunteers Teach Chinese Overseas

 Receive Two Awards

On November 30, 2018, TCU’s volunteers received two awards from the government for our overseas volunteer services. Tens of universities participated in this competition by sending their videos, and the topics covering how second generation overseas Chinese deal with self-identity, how they keep their cultural heritage, how Chinese schools face challenges and overcome difficulties in promoting Chinese, how overseas Chinese carry out community services, etc.

TCU’s student volunteers were guided by Professor Kun-Yi Ho to teach Chinese in Vietnam and Thailand, and were awarded for our services in these two countries. TCU is the only university that received two awards.

For our accomplishment, we are grateful to the judges, the guidance of TCU’s faculty members, and loving support from Tzu Chi volunteers around the world.
